POSITION TITLE: Lead Technical Design & Development
LOCATION OF POSITION: Bangladesh
REPORTING TO: Technical & Development Manager
ABOUT THE JOB:
AYA Brands designs, sources, and markets nationally and internationally an extensive range of men’s, women’s & kid’s wear including footwear & accessories. Their products are sold through all primary retail distribution levels principally under various trademarks and under private label brand names, such as ACE, Y, EKi. We are seeking a highly skilled on Technical Design & Development to lead our dynamic Technical Design team. As a Technical Design Leader, you will oversee all aspects of technical design to ensure accuracy of product measurements, quality, construction, and fit.
ABOUT YOUR ROLE:
To Supervise the Technical team and ensure we serve the needs to our customer (US) to the best of our ability. To assist Management by coordinating development and pre-production activities promptly and effectively, in accordance with deadlines set up by the business. Supervise and develop teams to achieve their departmental goal yearly basis.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
Include but not limited to
- Oversee all aspects of technical design across all categories for all garment components, including fit, fabric, construction, stitch, and trim
- Strong knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and ability to render and communicate all construction and detail pages to accurately reflect design intention
- Manage and grow a team of technical designers and pattern makers in a collaborative environment
- Measure garments accurately to identify any fit issues and execute fit comments efficiently to remain on schedule with production, to ensure product accuracy and maintain delivery deadlines
- Develop appropriate systems for fitting development and production styles to stay on calendar
- Provide grading guidelines to vendors after fit approval to ensure quality consistency and collaborate with internal and external partners
- Approve samples for production after a thorough evaluation of fit, measurement, pattern shaping, hanger appeal, and functionality
- Participate during Design hand-off meeting and provide a strong solutions based perspective
WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:
Include but not limited to
- 10+ years of related professional experience
- 7+ years of supervisory experience in a fashion company setting
- Proficient Computer Drawing skills for technical and construction detail sketches & related art using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop
- Proficient computer skills with emphasis on MS Office software & PLM Systems
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership skills to lead a team to success
- Strong knowledge in patternmaking is a must
- Knowledge of 3D CLO is preferred

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or Certification in Apparel Manufacturing, Design, Patternmaking, or equivalent.
